Asexual Friends Meetups For Asexual Awareness Week – ACE WEEK #aceweek2022

Have you every wondered what it’s like to hang out with asexual friends in person and what asexuals get up to with all the sex they’re not having? If so, you’re going to love this post.

Yes, not every asexual is sex repulsed, some asexuals do have sex, but for those of us who don’t, you might want to know what fun, non-sexual activities we get up to.

So in this post, I’m going to share with you, what I got up to with my bestest asexual friend Sammie for their 40th birthday and my close asexual friend Vanessa who is 21.
Both of these people are important to me and I am very thankful and grateful for them in my life.

Me and Sammie have known each other since 2017 and became best friends upon the first time of meeting in 2018, and Vanessa I met at an asexual meetup this year in my city, which I orgnanised. After my best friend Andy was too sick to meet up with me for my birthday in April, Vanessa came with me to the Aquarium for it, and I instantly got on really well with her and we became good friends and have since become even better friends, the more we have got to know each other. Because I reprogrammed my mind to be like 21 years old and I live like a teenager on purpose, I like going to a lot of the same places as Vanessa and as Sammie is really young too – they look like they are in their 20s, we like doing enjoyable, young, fun, things together too.

So on 28th October, for Sammie’s 40th Birthday:

* We went to a cafe in the morning.

* Then to a pub for a drink and gift giving (see photos).

* Then we ate in Nandos.

* Then we went to War Of The Worlds Immersive Experience, which was scary and fun. (See photo.)

* After that we drank in the bar and Sammie had a birthday cocktail (see photos below).

* We ate after then in East Street Thai Restaurant šŸ˜‹

* It was an ACE day.

* And even more ACE as we are both asexual in sexual orientation. We are both sex repulsed and naked repulsed. And it was Asexual Awareness Week. Watch the video

On 30th October, I went to Vanessa to Brean theme park, rode some amazing rides and enjoyed eating delicious foods. Check out these photos.

I really loved spending time with my asexual best and close friends for Asexual Awareness Week #aceweek2022 and having a lot of non-sexual asexual fun together. Which proves you can live a very happy life without sex, full of excitement and enjoyment. My life is never boring.

Always stay ACE

I am with my Asexual best friend from today for 5 days in total and doing lots of fun stuff, including going to the Disney on Ice show on Saturday and it’s their birthday on Monday, so we are having a pre-birthday asexual group meetup on Sunday and going to Plymouth Aquarium on Monday, to see the new Terminator movie and eating in Nandos. In effect it’s 5 days of birthday fun for them and me, because I feel like it’s my birthday too! They are one of the bestest friends I have ever had in my life! So pleased I met them, they make the world a more special and precious place, just by being in it!

ASEXUAL AWARENESS WEEK 21-27TH OCTOBER 2018 – Coming Out As Asexual

Today marks the start of Asexual Awareness Week from Oct 21st-27th 2018. Otherwise know as #aceweek.

This is the week that many people around the world go that extra mile to raise awareness of Asexuality and it is a huge opportunity for those who have not yet come out as asexual but been thinking about it for some time, to do just that, and come out. This could be to family, to friends, or to a loved one, or all 3.

If you are thinking about coming out but not sure how to go about it, one of the other speakers at the UK Asexuality Conference said they found it best to explain how they feel in regard to having sex, rather than at first say they are asexual, which can be harder to understand.

Before I knew I am asexual, I used to say to heterosexual guys I dated, that I didn’t like sex. I didn’t even know asexuality existed back then, but I knew I didn’t like sex. I think this is an easier concept to grasp because people can relate to the fact that not everyone likes doing everything, in this case sex, whereas a lack of sexual attraction is more harder to understand; unless you are asexual, it is something that is never usually talked about – not unless you are fortunate enough to have bumped into someone who is asexual in your life, or seen an article, documentary, or radio show about it, or you just happen to come across it online.

If you haven’t yet read my Asexual Perspectives 47 Asexual Stories, Love, Life and Sex, ACElebration of Asexual Diversity book, I first discovered I am asexual in 2014, when I went to see a counsellor because I couldn’t date heterosexuals any more for fear of them wanting sex at the end of the date; it made me so very anxious that I almost wet myself. But, I said I still like kissing. She said she was very worried about me because I would have to have sex in order to keep a good guy. I was absolutely devastated as it was the worst thing she could have said to me, as I just couldn’t do it anymore.

Watch this short video above which explains that moment with the counsellor!Ā https://youtu.be/2QDL9kHa-vQ

So after the counsellor said that to me, I got home and went online, I Googled “I love kissing but not sex” and that was when I discovered www.asexuality.orgĀ and asexuality, and after 3 weeks of research I finally understood not only that I am asexual, but what part of the asexual spectrum I was.Ā It was a wonderful feeling of joy and relief to finally know there were others like me, who could live and love without sex.

Spreading Awareness Of Asexuality On A Bigger Scale!

Just to tell you a little bit more about me, besides being a heteroromantic, Grey A, Asexual (Younger) Cougar who does not like sex but just kissing and a hyper-romantic too – I am a business girl and entrepreneur and run the Asexual Business, Gurus and Entrepreneurs Group on FacebookĀ http://www.facebook.com/groups/acebusinessĀ for aces who are into business, including creativity and the arts.

Unlike most aces, I am an extrovert – with some introvert tendencies because I spend a lot of time working online on my businesses on my own in the evenings. And because asexuality became such a huge part of my life since discovering I as am asexual in 2014, with all the asexual groups I am in, the couple of asexual dating sites I am on and the amount of aces I was connected to and the amount of time I was spending online regarding asexuality I had to make a big decision, to either give up all the asexuality stuff because I was meant to be helping redundant workers at that time and doing other stuff, or to go all out spreading awareness of asexuality on a global scale by creating a brand about asexuality called Asexualise and make asexuality part of my World Of Quirky business in effect.

This was super risky to all the other things I do – like the social media training, the mentoring etc, but I decided it was too bigger cause that I could not let it go and so I have had to push through my personal fears in order to be an Ambassador for Asexuality. This means that I have to talk about asexuality to strangers and educate them. It means I have to talk about personal and intimate things in order to help other aces through my YouTube channel which the whole world can see and it also means facing past relationship traumas to learn how to help other aces and this weekend – Sat and Sunday, I will be in London for a major two day seminar, that is back-to-back entrepreneur speakers and 12 hour days, so I will not be on here much because I am also in London on Monday too and going on a sleeper train throughout Friday night.

The event is being headlined by World Leading Coach Tony Robbins who changed my life in the same sort of event in 2012. And I will be spreading awareness of asexuality to other entrepreneurs and business people who I meet at the event and will be in the audience. I have done this before last year with a few people but I never had business cards for it and now I do – 100 cards arrived a short time ago. Yes, I still get a little fearful and it is a bit scary as in talking to strangers about the fact I don’t like sex – and these are entrepreneurs, but I think unless we can reach more of the world thought leaders and influences we are not going to make as much difference and it is going to keep being harder for us to find that special someone. So that is what I am doing.

Happy Asexual Awareness Week for next week; 23rd-29th of October.

Stay Ace
